Every decision, no matter how bold or blah, is an attempt at building a bridge between external conditions and internal mission.
No doubt there are seasons where one, the external or the internal, seems to have a stronger hold on the situation. Which is why it's vital to have a grasp on what we truly value in this short breeze of a life. Our values - truly understood, expressed and lived out in real time - impact both our external responses, as well as our internal rationale.
My values have shifted over time. They're sourced in faith in a God who is here and aware. They're intertwined in daily life with my family. They're connected to my skills and knowledge and creative passions. They're stirred up by the burdens of others and my role here in the dirt.
