Stop Berating Yourself

Seriously. It's not helpful. The negative self-talk really only serves to de-motivate, depress and muck up your creative pursuits.

I'm convinced more and more that each and every one of us is created, birthed, with a purpose and a set of underlying tools that, when discovered and developed, will bring it to life. We're intended to be parts of a larger body of co-creators working together to bring life and truth to the world. We're co-creators on mission here in the dirt, even when we're stalling, too stubborn to explore or flat out denying our call.

Spend some time this week coaching yourself. Ask yourself some big, high view questions about purpose and vision. But then press in on the challenges, the weaknesses, the lies and put some flesh on your discoveries. Just five minute intentional conversations will go a long way to finding some fresh perspective and fresh air.

Q. Where or Who do I want to be this time next year? Honestly?

Q. What have I truly tried in the past, not half-attempts, but all-in jumps toward your goals? What worked? What didn't?

Q. What one area am I going to focus on this week? What weakness can I bring into the light? What strength can I build into? When will I complete this and who will I tell?
